REFURBISHMENT OF GLAND SEALING WATER PUMP.
DESCRIPTION
Extensive pump knowledge and careful root cause analysis identified various issues responsible for problematic performance. Corrective restoration was then performed.

Asset investigation and root cause analysis, indicated the sequence of events eventually
leading to component failure of this key plant item.
In addition to normal operational ‘wear and tear’. Previous non-standard pump modifications,
carried out by unknown repairers were identified as detrimental to pump longevity.
Although requiring extensive repair/remediation works, this pump still proved to be viable for
repair.
Refurbishment by J.A.C. Pump services brought this pump back to factory specification.
Ensuring operational performance as intended. Hydraulic and dynamic balancing, once again
restored.
Ceramic wear coatings, were applied to enhance wear resistance performance. Full
commissioning report indicating pump performance was submitted upon reinstallation.
