ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS OF PUMP FAILURE & RECONDITIONING
DESCRIPTION
The J.A.C. Pump Services root cause analysis procedure identified the issues responsible for pump failure, allowing modifications to be made during refurbishment to maximise future performance.

OVERVIEW
Thorough investigation and condition reporting indicated the sequence of events eventually
leading to component failure. Rectification work to ‘engineer out’ these failure modes was
undertaken. Additional improvements and modifications were also made whilst bringing the pump back to
specification, enhancing the future serviceability of an ageing but very capable piece of capital
equipment.
