ROOT CAUSE FAILURE ANALYSIS, RECONDITIONING & REINSTALLATION
DESCRIPTION
The J.A.C. Pump Services root cause analysis procedure identified issues which were responsible for the chain of events leading to pump failure.

Oil lubricated Line shaft assembly with bearings and mechanical
seal.

DETAILS
Thorough investigation and condition reporting indicated the sequence of events eventually
leading to component failure. During pump reconditioning, componentry upgrade was
conducted to address the mode of failure. Additional works were performed to replace damaged
componentry and ensure realignment. Ceramic wear coatings were also utilised to bring the
pump back to specification and enhancing future performance. Full commissioning report
indicating pump performance was submitted upon reinstallation.
